Many of us use music for what it does for our bodies, minds and lifestyle—it can pump you up, keep you going or calm you down. New music can make workouts feel new, too.

So, we like to keep our fitness music playlists fresh. When you put in your earbuds and get moving, check out these songs from the past few months. They make you work!

PS: We purposely left off Uptown Funk by Mark Ronson & Bruno Mars and All About that Bass by Meghan Trainor. Not because we don’t love those tunes, but because we figure you’ve downloaded them by now and you might even be getting tired of them.

Motivation!

Ariana Grande: Break Free…Nothing like a bit of dance club stylings with an uplifting message about freedom to get you going. This girl has pipes, too.

Bleachers: I Wanna Get Better…It’s kind of new age, kind of grungy, rather upbeat and has a nice retro sound, too. Most of all, what a title. Of course you do; don’t we all?

Perseverance!

Maroon 5: Sugar…A slinky voice, a strong beat and thoughts of a special treat (sugar!) help you keep it going through your strength training or mat work.

Jessie J & 2 Chainz: Burnin’ Up…Hip hop and pop beats mix it up to give you the kind of musical backdrop that makes you feel hot when you’re workin’ up a sweat.

A Little Bit Country

Luke Bryan: Play it Again…Get your cool groove on in country style with popular star Luke Bryan and his love tune. You just might extend your workout a little with this one.

Keith Urban (feat. Eric Church): Raise ‘Em Up…It’s a free-rollin’ sound with likeable harmonies that will bring a little lightness to your step and make your work fly by.

A Little Bit Rock and Pop

Fall Out Boy: Uma Thurman…It’s nice to tap into a little bit of a throwback in order to keep yourself on track. Even if you don’t remember “Pulp Fiction,” this brings you back.

Beyoncé: Grown Woman…Hard to deny the incredible danceability and power of just about any up-tempo song by the Queen B, and this one is no exception.
