"To get something you've never got you have to do something you've never done." That's the reason I joined this challenge.
I've lost weight on my own many times, mainly doing cardio because I was too intimidated by the rest of the gym. I never got the results I wanted and would burn out, give up, and gain the weight back. My goal was to gain the confidence I needed to conquer my fear of the gym, lose weight, and tone my body.
The hardest part of the challenge for me was the first time (and maybe the 2nd) when I met with my trainer, Kevin Jordan. I was petrified. What had I gotten myself into? I laugh about it now because Kevin is great. He made me feel at ease right from the beginning which was crucial for my success. I trusted him and his abilities and knew he was there to help. He helped me see that I was doing too much cardio and needed to focus more on strength training and total body exercises. So that's what we did. The change up was exactly what I needed and I noticed the difference immediately. My diet was pretty good (most of the time) but lacking in protein, so I used XSport Protein throughout the challenge. It mixed well with many things, tasted great and was a quick way to get the lean protein I was missing. Post workout I would mix it with the XSport Glutamine for a quick recovery shake. I noticed a big difference in my recovery time and will definitely continue to use these products.
There is no doubt the key to my success in this challenge was my trainer. With his help I reached the goals I set out to accomplish. Not only have I lost weight, but my whole body and attitude have changed. He gave me the confidence I needed to get out of my comfort zone. I look forward to our sessions now and plan on continuing this journey.
