XSport Get Fit Challenge 2009 Participant"Aside from merely the results, I cannot recommend highly enough the training staff and support that they have given me. I have truly felt like they have supported me in every possible way through this challenge and feel like they provide that kind of support to each person coming in for training."
My reasons for participating in xsport get fit challenge came primarily from the fact of how out of shape I had become. 7 years ago I was the Athlete of the year at my University and yet here I was 297 lbs. with a body fat percentage of over 30%. That was more than double what my percentage was in college. Seeing how far I had come I knew something needed to stop and I needed to get myself back under control. This challenge came at the right time and provided that motivation to really make a difference in my life. From changing eating habits, working out habits and just prioritizing what is important in life.
There is no way you can argue with results and seeing the weight shed each week was addicting. It was fun to see the progress and soon the vast body transformation. Seeing my tailored pants no longer fit even though I had just purchased them 4 weeks before was incredible (bad on the pocket book) but truly inspirational. Seeing pictures of myself 12 weeks ago now is sad, as it's disheartening that I had let myself get so overweight. Now each time I look in the mirror it's fun to see the shape I am in and the progress that has been made.
While seeing the weight loss and the inches drop was exhilarating. When I didn't see the results it was really hard because I kept thinking to myself how can I be working this hard and not be losing weight (this happened on a couple plateaus). Another obstacle that was probably the hardest for me was portion control. As I had to face to reason I was obese head on and deal with it every time I ate. It was truly painful the first couple of weeks, however now I cannot imagine eating all that I ate each day.
The hardest part for me was about week 8 when I had been sacrificing and working so hard for so long. While seeing my friends doing other things that were more fun it was hard to have the discipline to continue and not just blow off training to go out with them. It was also difficult as because of the amount of time training took I wasn't able to invest in some relationships like I wanted for the time being. However we know that because of the changes that have occurred and the lifestyle changes that this challenge brought I have added years to my life which I now get to spend with my family. This no one can take away from me now and is probably the biggest gain from the 12 week Challenge.
I lost over 55 Lbs. This is almost 20% of my body weight. I have almost cut my body fat percentage in half. I have had to purchase a completely new wardrobe as the clothes I used to wear are vastly oversized now. It is truly scary how much change has occurred in the last 12 weeks. However the biggest success that I am taking away from the Challenge is a vast lifestyle change which has allowed me to already reduce my risk of health concerns and I know these risks will continue to go down which will allow me to live longer and spend more time with my family which is priceless.
Supplements I used throughout the Challenge were: MultiX, ThermoX and Protein. I believe they were all beneficial and I wouldn't have achieved the results I achieved without them. For regardless of how hard I worked out, my body recuperated faster than I expected or had previously experienced. This allowed me to continue and not waste as much time recovering. Also the supplements gave me the strength and nutrients I needed even though we were limiting our caloric intake. I would recommend XSPORT Supplements to other members without any hesitation as I have had a great experience and feel like they helped me achieve the results I achieved. I would especially recommend the Protein.
I feel like more than reaching the goals for me the Trainer empowered me to do it and gave me the tools and guidance to be successful and reach those goals on my own. Therefore I owe an incredible amount to my trainer and wouldn't change him for the world. He has made me a stronger person and caused me to reach those goals.
The program that was designed for me had several stages. At first I was responsible for cardio on my own and then we got together for weight training This weight training was adjusted to the point where it became circuit training (as my cardio allowed us to do more we increased the exercises and the reps.). Then we alternated working on strength training with boxing to enhance cardio. I feel like for me these stages were crucial as in the past after a couple of weeks have gotten tired of the repetitious programs and have lost interest. My trainer did an amazing job of switching up the workouts while still working on the things that we needed to improve on. That is why I would recommend him without any hesitation and have already brought some of my friends to train with Him.
For me the individually designed program pushed me farther than I would have ever pushed myself, while continually adjusting to meet my changing needs. This adjustment allowed me to maintain motivated through what would have otherwise been an arduous 12 weeks. Also by having an experienced trainer to monitor and provide guidance that allowed us to focus on areas that I would have ignored on my own and thus achieve better results.
If I had the opportunity to change another person's life (which I do) it would be my wife. Though now she is pregnant and is waiting till after she gives birth the results she has seen speak for themselves and have been an inspiration not only to her but to many of my friends (currently we have had nine friends come and spend some time in the gym. Several of them becoming members). The reason I would choose my wife is because I want this transformation to take over our family so that we can reduce the risk of health related issues and live longer with a better quality of life. Again the results have spoken for themselves and from people at work, neighbors and various community events many people have commented on the difference and want to know how it has happened so quickly.
Aside from merely the results, I cannot recommend highly enough the training staff and support that they have given me. I have truly felt like they have
supported me in every possible way through this challenge and feel like they provide that kind of support to each person coming in for training. Having experienced many trainers in collegiate and high school athletics I can truly say that Ricky Williams is one of the most engaging and inspirational trainers I have had. I would recommend him to anyone who is looking to train. After all not many people can help you lose almost 55 lbs in 12 weeks.
