I entered the Get Fit Challenge II Contest because I was at a point in my life where I was working out regularly, but I wasn't eating healthy and my weight was suffering because of that. I was getting very frustrated with myself and my self-esteem was lower than it should have been. As a mother of two children, I knew I needed to make some changes, and the contest was the perfect answer.

My goals for the program were actually quite simple: lose 20 pounds, lower my body fat percentage, eat healthier on a consistent basis, and be a good role model for my two children. With the help of my XSport trainer Owen and some great supplements, I was able to achieve every single goal I set for myself.

The impact Owen, my trainer, had on helping me accomplish my goals was immense. He encouraged me to use a heart rate monitor during my workouts and track how many calories I burned during each workout. He had me use the "My Fitness Pal" app to keep track of the calories I burned for each workout and what food I ate each day. He set very clear guidelines for me so I knew exactly how many calories I needed to burn each day along with how many calories I ate. Owen also created customized workouts that were tailored to me and my fitness level. Because I have two children and I work full time, I have to work out between 4:00-5:00am every weekday. Having a customized workout plan every time I went to the gym helped me burn an optimum amount of calories and increase my fitness level, which led to actually losing more weight than I'd initially planned on. Another great idea Owen had was giving out weekly challenges to his team of contest participants.

I was also very pleased with the two supplements I used throughout the competition - Amino Energy and Whey Protein Powder. With having to get up most mornings around 4:00am, the Amino Energy supplement was invaluable for keeping my energy level up during my morning workouts and allowed me to better focus throughout the day. I used the protein powder daily as well. The protein shakes were a great way to curb my hunger and avoid eating unhealthy foods. It's the perfect, healthy snack for a teacher to have during class every day.

The Get Fit Challenge II has made me a much more disciplined person and has shown my children the importance of setting personal goals and sacrificing to achieve those goals. It's also taught me the importance of making good food and exercise choices. Thanks to Owen, I was able to get educated on the best way to get healthy and stay healthy. I am extremely proud of my hard work, and it has paid off because I look and feel great.
